Prof. Sudhin Mukhopadhyay, Emiritus Professor
The Governing Body of SKAIL has been pleased to confer the status of Emeritus Professor on Dr. Sudhin K. Mukhopadhyay in recognition of his contributions to teaching and research in economics and his sustained pursuit of the goal of linking education with social development. A Ph.D in Economics from the University of Minnesota, USA, Professor Mukhopadhyay served as professor of Economics at the University of Kalyani. He was founder Director of the Institute of Studies in Population, Agriculture and Rural Change, where he is now Vice-Chairman. He served as Professor at Viswa Bharati and the ISI Kolkata. He was a recipient of Fulbright Fellowship, Rockerfeller Foundation Fellowship, Japan Foundation Fellowship and many other distinctions in different countries. He was a member of Professional Expert Committees of Planning Commission, UGC, ICAR Consultant at ILO, World Bank and other eminent organizations in India and abroad. He held faculty positions at leading Universities including Minnesota, Yale, Penn State, Tokyo, Kyoto and the IDE (Japan).
Prof. Balai Chandra Barui, M.A. Ph.D
He is a Professor of History at the University of Kalyani; published four books and wrote over twenty papers; has teaching experience over thirty five years; he is an external member of PG Board of Studies in History at VidyasagarUniversity and Biswa Bharati University; now teaching History at SKAIL.
Mr. Utpal Bhattacharjee, M.A. (Economics)
Presently he is the Registrar of University of Kalyani; formerly Deputy Controller of examination, NBU, and Development & Planning officer, CU; participated in many seminars and workshops at the national level an industrial consultant to the Govt. of Sikkim; admist busy schedule, he has spared his invaluable time to teach Economics at SKAIL.
Prof. Sadhan Mukherjee, MA. (History), WBES (Rtd.)
With good academic background, Prof. Mukherjee served, selected through State PSC, many govt. colleges for a period over 37 years, initially as lecturer and later as Asst. Professor of History; participated in a number of state/national level seminars; now teaching history at SKAIL.
Dr. Alok Kumar Chottopadhyay, M.A. (Economics), PhD.
Dr. Chottopadhyay served as Reader in Economics and was Principal, RBC (Evening) College, Naihati; did PhD. In Economics at University of Kalyani; currently he is a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Rural Development and Management at INSPARK, K.U.; presented papers and participated in the international conference on Development that Lasts held at Helsinki, Finland, in1995; teaching Economics at SKAIL.
Prof Swadhin Ranjan Dey, M A (Political Science), WBES (Rtd)
With a bright academic attainment, Prof. Dey, selected through State PSC, served since 1968 some of the leading colleges like Presidency College, Krishnanagar College, ABN Seal college, Cooch Behar and Moulana Azad College, spanning over a period of thirty five years, also served as Officiating Principal for some period; participated and presented papers in many national! international seminars & workshops.; Now teaching Political Science at SKAIL.
Dr. Amitesh Mukhopadhayay, M.A., Ph.D.
Dr. Mukhopadhayay is a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Kalyani; obtained his masters degree from the Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi and did his doctorate from Goldsmith College, London; recipient of International Fellowship; published a number of research papers; teaching Sociology at SKAIL.
Dr. Kaushik Chhaterjee MA. (Sociology), PhD.
He obtained M.A. and Ph.D. From the University of Kalyani; published papers on the areas: Development Studies and Globalisation; in addition to teaching Sociology at SKAIL he is also teaching at Kalyani Mahavidyalaya and IGNOU Study Center.
Mr. Shubhaiyu Chakraborty, M.A.
He is currently working as a part-time Lecturer in English at the Krishnanagar Government lege; as a student of the University he took part in some of the Inter-university level programmes like Youth parliament Competition and Quiz.
Mr. Samir Kumar Chakraborty, M.A. LL.B., W.B.H.J.S. (Retd.)
Mr. Chakraborty served as judicial officer for about 26 years in different capacities including Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Asst. District and Sessions Judge, Addl. District and Sessions Judge etc. He retired as a District Judge-in-Charge. He has also held the office of Hearing officer, Kolkata Municipal Corporation and as President, District Consumer Redressal Forum. He has joined the Institute to impart education in different law subjects especially Procedural Laws.
Mr. Subhas Chandra Datta, M.Com., LL.M., W.B.H.J.S. (Retd.)
Mr. Datta retired from the West Bengal Judicial Service, as the District and Sessions Judge. He served as judicial officer for about 14 years in different capacities including Civil Judge Junior Division, Asst. District and Sessions Judge. He has also held the office of President, District Consumer Redressal Forum. He has undertaken responsibility to teach Civil Laws especially Land Laws, Property Laws, etc.
Prof. Ranjan Roy, M.A.(Eng.), WBES, (Rtd.) Guest Faculty
After obtaining P.G. Degree from Calcutta University (1967), he made publication of some papers on William Godwin and his fiction under the guidance of Professor Kitty Schoular Datta, the then Professor and Head of the English Department, J.U.; selected through UPSC, joined M.B.B. (Govt.) College, Agartala as lecturer (1968-'73); subsequently selected through State PSC, he served different Govt. Colleges (1974-’85) as lecturer and finally as Asstt. Professor; joined Kalyani University in Feb.’85 and in high level administration in the rank of Registrar, Finance officer and Dean of Student Welfare till retirement in 2004; at the national level, served on different committees: member, cultural standing committee, AIU, N. Delhi and coordinator, East Zone Universities, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs; participated and presented papers in many national and international seminars/workshops; presently apart from administrative assignment, teaching English at SKAIL; also teaching as guest teacher at the Department of Rural Development and Management, K.U.
